Leafing by Example: Innovations for Tree Retention and Urban Greenery
Join us for our first breakfast of the financial year on all this urban greening.
The loss of urban green space and native vegetation has remained a top issue for Local Government and the planning industry.
Local Governments have been playing a vital leading role in tree retention and urban canopy enhancement in Western Australia to address this issue, with many developing and implementing urban forest strategies, adopting significant tree registers and making amendments to Local Planning Schemes.
This is all while tackling the need to accommodate increasing housing density and the infestation of the Polyphagous shot-hole borer.
With a patchwork of approaches towards tree retention being used, we will hear and evaluate innovative local government strategies, tree-mendous policies, community-driven initiatives and best practices aimed at preserving and expanding our urban forests.
Featuring expert speakers and an engaging panel discussion, we will delve into effective policies and practices for increasing tree canopy cover, retaining mature trees, and fostering sustainable urban environments.
Register now and join us in planting the seeds for a sustainable tomorrow!
