Late last month we saw the long-anticipated release of the Medium Density Housing Code (MD Code). In the final policy, the Western Australian Planning Commission has responded to a number of concerns raised by industry stakeholders, including a well-considered and staged implementation approach.
The challenge for the local government sector now is to come up to speed with the new Codes, and ensure a comprehensive understanding of the implementation considerations prior to gazettal and during the special transition period.
This forum will seek to answer key questions arising in the implementation to provide clarity and consistency in assessment, and identify any potential issues which may arise for further consideration of the WAPC.
Kathy Bonus (Chief Planning Advisor) and Daniel Bromley (Manager Design Policy) from the Department Planning, Lands and Heritage will provide an overview of the Codes and the associated Planning Bulletin 114, followed by a Q&A session facilitated by LGPA President Chris Leigh.
Registration commences at 3pm with the session commencing at 3.30pm sharp. Please then join us for networking including drinks and nibbles from 5.30pm - 7.00pm.
