Update to Planning Reform for Better Places
The State’s planning reform agenda is progressing in leaps and bounds despite the economic and social disruption of the COVID19 pandemic. Local government planners continue to play an integral role in ensuring the effectiveness of the improvements proposed, and it is of critical importance that local government provides input and feedback on the measures being progressed.
This breakfast forum will assist in understanding recent measures announced and provide insight into the next steps proposed. WAPC Chair David Caddy, Director General Gail McGowan and Chief Planning Advisor Kathy Bonus will present on:
- The recently finalised amendments to the Planning and Development Act 2005;
- The recently released draft amendments to the R-Codes (Volume 1);
- An update on the progression of the R-Codes (Medium Density Codes); and
- An update on the progression of amendments to the Planning and Development (Local Planning Scheme) Regulations 2015.
Following the presentation the speakers will be joined by industry experts Cameron Leckey (Rise Urban) and Maria Cooke (City of Kwinana) to further discuss the planning reform measures and participate in a Q&A session with the audience.
